How Stump Grinding Works
Stump grinding is more effective and less disruptive than stump removal (pulling the entire root system out). Our stump grinder uses a rotating cutting wheel to chip the stump down 6–12 inches below ground level — well below where grass roots and topsoil will cover it naturally.
The process produces a pile of wood chips, which we can either leave for you to use as mulch or haul away with the rest of the debris. We then backfill the hole with the grindings and leave the area leveled and ready for new sod, seed, or planting.
